guys i luv steak like most of you guys do and grill atleast 2-3 time s a month in my George Foreman ElecElectric Grill. (it doesnt have a temp. control). I usually get the steak from sams club(bone less) and make it rare.(1.5" thick). I grill it for about 7-8 minutes flipping it every 3 minutes. Sometimes it come out great and juicy, some times its like tasty when i start to eat, by the time i get it done, it will get colder and gets harder to chew. Am i doing it right (based on time). Is 1.5" good in 8 minutes? Also i marinate it for atleast 2 hours.
Something else to think about ::
The meat is refrigerated, right? Some cook it chilled, some let it get to room temp before cooking and this effects the final result as well; one might work better than the other.
Are you preheating the grill? Marinating it? Putting a rub on the meat before cooking?
.
Doesn’t the Geo Foreman grill have heat on the top and the bottom? Is your meat coming off the grill rare now? It seems that about 6 minutes should give you a rare steak–defined as 125 degrees and a red juicy center. It should also have a nice grilled top and bottom and there is no reason to turn it or even touch it for that 6 minutes.
Give it a try and if you cut it and it’s too rare just pop it back on for two more minutes. You’re making me hungry!

first off, if your are using a g. foreman grill, why are you flipping it? the grill cooks from both top and bottom right? than if you overcook it ,it will get less tasty and tougher as it cools. cook it for less time and let it rest for five-ten minutes tented with some tin foil. are you always using the marinate each time? changes may affect cooking time/tenderness. have you tried dry rubs for a change? just some thoughts.
