Yes, but it depends on the manufacturers recommendations. I do.

Lowe's has them, Home Depot has them, Target has them, Wall-mart has them. You just have to shop around to find what you want.

I was just wondering about this. Is it a different kind of gas? I know that grills run off propane.

Also, as a side question, does anyone know where I can get just a gas burner that's safe to use indoors? I've seen the portable hotplate electric burners but nothing with gas.

The stove is set up to give a complete burn of the fuel. The gas grill is not, so produces carbon monoxide, which is not good for humans or pets. Some wall heaters require venting and some do not because of the same thing.

You might try a camping store for the small burners, check if they are rated for indoor use. If not, you can still use them as long as you have good cross ventilation and fresh air coming in.

I live in a condo community that does not allow charcoal bbq'ing unlesss you do it a certain distance from the building. I want do do it on my patio so I wouId need to get an electric girll. I know it won't taste the same as bbq grilling but is even worth getting one based on how the food turns out?

Ehhhh, I really didn't notice that much difference between broiing stuff in the oven and using an Electric Grill. Eventually, I decided it was close enough, needed to save space, and chucked the grill.

especially to grill chicken or meat, because of my cholesterol's I must eat grilled stuff

If you go with the griddle you can also use the fan from your range hood.

Ok, I’m on a diet and am in the mood for beef, but it has to be lean. I have an electric stove and no outdoor grill, so I was planning on wrapping it in foil and sticking it in the oven. I have already seasoned the meat the way I like it. How long should I leave it in the oven if I am gonna cook it that way?
The meat is about 2 inches thick.
Does the fact that the stove and oven are electric make any difference at all?

It would be better if you could broil it in the oven. Such a fine, tender cut of beef is best prepared with a dry cooking method, like broiling grilling or pan searing.

By wrapping it in foil you will essentially be steaming the meat.

If you have a broiler, set it on high and cook the meat about 4 minutes on each side for a 2 inch thick filet. If you have a meat thermometer, use it to reach the desired temp.

To pan sear it, put in a hot skillet on the stove that has 1 tablespoon oil and one tablespoon butter melted in it. (Or spray it with pan, if the fat isn’t one your diet. Cook it about 4 minutes per side and then turn down the heat and cover VERY LOOSELY with foil until it reaches the desired level of doneness for you.

But if you still want to cook it in foil in the oven, you should start with about 15 minutes and then check on it. You don’t say how much or how thick the steak is so that is as close as I can get.

Looking for ways to save money on food to cut costs of the trip, we will be spending a week in a hotel room that has a microwave and mini-fridge. We will also be bringing a small crockpot and an electric burner and a small skillet, maybe a george foreman grill too. We already plan on making a roast one night.

Only use the microwave please.

But cooking in the rooms you are running a chance of getting yourself kicked out. When you cook in motels you are putting them in violation of fire code.

Bring hot dogs, tuna fish, bread, ramen, cup of noodles etc… Cook in the micro and use the coffee pot to heat up water to make your noodles.

Or make up the roast a head of time, and reheat it or if it s true roast beef rather than a pot rosat you can eat it cold in sandwiches. If it is post roast it doesn't matter if you heat it up.

I got a used Electric Grill from a friend and there were no directions. It has a knob with temps. all the way to 500F. I'm cooking steaks and I was wondering what temp. to cook them at and how long? We like ours medium well-well done. Also, if you have any suggestions on marinade you can throw it my way. I know the most common one is italian dressing, but I want something different.

Try sake, garlic, fresh black pepper, garlic powder, garlic salt and meat tenderizer. or sake, garlic and soy sauce or the same things with ginger and sugar added. Depends what flavor you want. Cooking it on a high heat 425',( meat should be at room temp. and marinaded for 30 Minuntes. or more.) Just 5 min at first then look at it see if side is brown if so turn if not continue cooking until brown before turning it.
